Villarreal
All eyes will be on Estadio San Mames when Athletic Club and Villarreal face each other in the La Liga round 12. The Lions made a promising start to the season, but they are on a four-game winless run ahead of the visit of Villarreal. Both Dani Garcia and Ander Herrera suffered injuries in a 4-0 loss to Barca, and, as a result, the duo is likely to miss Sunday’s showdown.
The Yellow Submarine, on the other hand, came from behind to beat Almeria 2-1 in their last league match, with the team moving closer to the Champions League berth. Anyhow, the share of spoils is on the cards at “San Mames” as the two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment. Both Manu Morlanes and Alex Baena are banned for the visitors, while fit-again midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is pushing for a start.
Highlighted Player (Iker Muniain):
Iker Muniain was once considered one of the most talented players in Spain, but he obviously failed to reach his full potential. Munian is an attacking midfielder, who is capable of playing as a forward as well and he began his youth career at Chantrea. In 2005 he made probably the best decision of his career as he joined Athletic Bilbao youth academy.
He made his debut for Athletic Bilbao on 30 July, 2009 in a 1-0 loss to Young Boys in the Europa League. Iker Munian impressed in the 2011/2012 La Liga campaign with the Lions, scoring nine goals in all competitions, but he failed to make a bigger progress. The Athletic Bilbao product has been struggling with injuries and it has to be noted that the injury he suffered against Sevilla on 4 April, 2015 could have ruined his career.
However, he returned to action on 20 December, but he was playing below expectations in the second half of the season. Iker Munian made his Spain debut on 29 February, 2012 in a friendly against Venezuela. La Roja won the match 5-0 and Munian came as a substitute in the 74th minute of the match.

Villarreal CF was founded on 10th of March 1923. In the year 1998 Villarreal managed to reach the Primera Division for the first time in history of the club. After 1 season the club could not manage to stay in the league and go regulated to the Segunda Division. In the last couple of years Villarreal developed itself to a stable club in the Primera Division.
This first European succes was in 2003/2004 where the club managed to reach the semi finals in the UEFA cup. In 2004/2005 Villarreal end 3rd on the table in the Primera Division which was a highlight for the club.
The biggest succes was in 2006 when Villarreal managed to reach the semi finals in the Champions League. In the semi finals the club lost with only 1 goal difference against runner up Arsenal. Former known players for Villarreal are: Riquelme, Tomasson, Fernandez, Forlan and Pires.
