Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Following a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest in their Europa League opener, Real Betis will look to record their third win of the new La Liga campaign when they face Osasuna on Sunday. Los Beticos outplayed Real Sociedad 3-1 at the weekend and we predict that they will adopt yet another attack-oriented approach against los Rojillos. Cucho Hernandez is widely expected to return to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in the midweek draw, while the likes of Bartra, Deossa, Isco, and Llorente remain in the treatment room.
Osasuna, on the other hand, were on the verge of beating Elche in their midweek game, but los Franjiverdos eventually scored a late equalizer to save one point. Alessio Lisci’s men, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Betis’ party at Estadio de La Cartuja (different stadium). Midfielder Aimar Oroz should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (William Carvalho):
Angola-born defensive midfielder William Carvalho has overseen a dramatic rise in his stock over the past few seasons at Sporting. William Carvalho is coming from a proper football family since his father and grandfather were also footballers, but his way to the top has had a somewhat dramatic twist to it.
Carvalho moved to Portugal as a child and first started playing football in the streets before he was picked up by Recreativos Desportivos de Algueriao. William Carvalho joined the Sporting football academy at the age of 13 The 24-year-old Portugal star player has spent two years on loan at Fatima and Cercle Brugge, before he got the chance to cement his place in the starting line-up for Portuguese giants.
William Carvalho came through all youth ranks with the Portugal national team, while he was given his senior debut in 2013. Carvalho played an important role in his country’s maiden European Championship title in France over the summer.
Highlighted Team (Osasuna):
Osasuna are a Basque football team that plays in Spanish La Liga. Los Rojillos are based in Pamplona and and the club were founded in 1920. Estadio El Sadar has been the home of Osasuna since 1967 and the capacity of the stadium is 19,800.
The colour of Osasuna’s home kit is red, while the team’s shorts are navy blue. Los Rojillos dropped to the Segunda Division at the end of the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign, but they did not spend too many time in the Spanish second tier. The club returned to the elite division in 2016 after beating Girona in the play-offs.
Osasuna made it to the Spanish Copa del Rey final in 2005, but they eventually lost to Real Betis after extra time in the title game. The meaning of the word Osasuna is “health” in Basque and it is used in a sense of strength.
