Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
There will be fireworks when Celta Vigo and Athletic Club go head to head at Estadio de Balaidos on day 3 of the new Primera Division campaign. Os Celeste have established themselves as a mid-table side, but they have bigger ambitions for the 2021/22 season. The good news for the hosts is that Hugo Mallo returns from suspension, but Miguel Baeza remains in the recovery room. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be experienced attacker Iago Aspas.
The Lions, on the other hand, produced a fine display in a 1-1 draw with Barcelona. Athletic Club are determined to record their first win of the season, but beating Celta Vigo in Galicia is easier said than done. Taking everything into account, share of spoils is on the cards at Estadio de Balaidos. Athletic Club boss Marcelino can count on key players for Saturday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Jeison Murillo):
Jeison Murillo is a 24-year-old Colombian defender who plays for Inter Milan in Serie A. The centre back started in the youth teams of Deportivo Cali but made his senior professional bow with Udinese and Granada, as part of the partnership agreement between the clubs.
He moved on a permanent basis to Granada in 2011 but spent most of his time on loans at fellow Spanish league clubs Cadiz and Las Palmas. His talent was there for everyone to see and soon he would end up moving to Inter Milan in 2015. Murillo made his international debut for Colombia in 2014.
He was also a member of the 2015 Copa America squad and scored his solitary goal in national colors against Brazil. He would go on to win the “Best Young Player” of the tournament. Murillo is a hard-tackling no-nonsense centre back and is regarded as a ball-playing defender, which is almost a rarity in world football.
Highlighted Team (Athletic Bilbao):
Athletic Club (mostly known as Athletic de Bilbao) is a Spanish football club from the Bask region which is playing currently in the Primera Division. The club from Bilbao is playing in the highest Spanish division since its founded in 1928 and is next to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona for a longest period of time in the Primera Division. Athletic de Bilbao used to play until 2012 in the San Mames stadium (also known as La Catedral).
Since 2013 the club is playing in anew stadium. Athletic Bilbao is known for its rivalry with Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid was founded by Bask students in Madrid. The old relationship between both teams is visible in the red blue jerseys of both teams.
The second team Athletic de Bilbao is playing in the Segunda Division B in Spain. Athletic Bilbao won the Primera Division 8 times, the Copa del Rey 24 times, the Spanish super cup 2 times. Athletic de Bilbao didn’t won any prizes in Europe yet but managed to be the runner up in 1977 and 2012 in the UEFA cup.
