Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
There will be fireworks when Eibar and Alaves take on each other at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua in the Basque derby. Eibar failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad, with the team extending their losing run in La Liga to five games. Los Armeros are stuck at the bottom of the standings, and seeing that they head into Saturday’s clash with the lack of confidence, home win should not be considered. Pozzo has joined Bigas in the recovery room.
Alaves, on the other hand, are eager to escape the danger zone, and we predict that they will take advantage of Eibar’s current form. The visitors have been in a fine form of late, with the team beating both Huesca and Villarreal, while sharing the spoils with Valencia. Even though Cordoba, Duarte, Abqar, and Ely remain on the sidelines with injuries, we are tempted to put our money on the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Rafa Soares):
Born in Marco de Canaveses, Portugal, Rafa Soares is a professional footballer who plays for Vitoria Guimaraes as a left-back. Rafa is a product of the Porto football academy, but he did not see any game action in Primeira Liga with the Dragons.
After scoring eight goals in 61 appearances with Porto B, the Portuguese defender spent a couple of seasons on loan at Academica, Rio Ave, and Fulham. In 2018 he played for Portimonense, but nowadays, he wears the number 5 shirt at Vitoria Guimaraes. Rafa Soares has nine caps with the Portugal U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the Portugal senior team.
His primary position is left-back, but he is used as both left midfielder and left winger as well. Rafa’s preferred foot is left, and he has a contract with Vitoria Guimaraes until June 2021. Rafa Soares made his Primeira Liga debut against Academica back in January 2016, during his spell with Vitoria Setubal.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
