Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Getafe will be aiming to make amends for a 3-2 loss to Osasuna when they face Granada on Matchday 22. Los Azulones have already recorded five wins at home this term, which is surely fuelling fans with optimism ahead of Monday’s showdown. Both Jaime Mata and Juanmi Latasa are back from suspension, but keep in mind that all Jose Angel Carmona, Luis Milla, and Damian Suarez are banned for the match.
The Andalusians, on the other hand, have suffered four defeats in the previous five league matches. Granada are not regarded as good travellers and, taking everything into account, we do not believe that they are going to spoil Getafe’s party in Madrid. To make things even worse for the away team, important striker Lucas Boye serves a one-game ban due to the accumulation of yellow cards, while defender Martin Hongla is banned by the Spanish FA.
Highlighted Player (Damián Suárez):
Damian Suarez is a Uruguay footballer who plays for La Liga side Getafe as a right-back. Born in Montevideo on April 27, 1988, Suarez played for the youth team of his hometown club Defensor at the start of his career and he eventually made 63 appearances in the Uruguayan top flight for La Viola.
In 2011 the pacey full-back moved to Spain, signing a three-year contract with Sporting Gijon. At the end of the season he joined Elche and after making 98 appearances for los Franjiverdes from 2012 to 2015 he signed a deal with Getafe.
Damian Suarez has established himself as a first-team regular at the capital club and he played 41 games for los Azulones in the 2016/2017 Segunda Division campaign, including play-offs fixtures. Getafe secured promotion to the Spanish elite division thanks to a 3-2 win (on agg.) over Tenerife in the two-legged tie. Suarez has three caps for Uruguay U20 team and he represented La Celeste at the 2007 FIFA U20 World Cup.
Highlighted Team (Granada):
Granada are an Andalusian football club that plays in Spanish La Liga. The club were founded on 14 April, 1931 and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy. El Grana, though, booked their place in the Spanish Cup final in 1959, but Barcelona proved to be a big catch for the Andalusian outfit.
Granada host their rivals at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, the stadium that was built in 1995. The capacity of the stadium is 23,934. Granada’s main rivals are fellow Andalusian team Sevilla, but Real Betis are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well.
The likes of Yacine Brahimi, Juan Aguero, Gustavo Benitez, Pahinho, Denis Milar, Julio Montero Castillo, Capi, Cesar and Jose Mingorance are famous players that were part of the Estadio El Sadar outfit in the past. The original colour of Granada’s kits were blue and white, but after the Spanish Civil War the club chiefs bought new ones (red and white).
