Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Levante will look to make amends for a massive 6-0 loss to Real Madrid when they take on Deportivo Alaves on Matchday 37. Los Levantinos failed to secure the La Liga survival, but their pride will be at stake in Sunday’s football match. Head coach Alessio Lisci should opt to make changes to the team that suffered the heavy defeat to los Blancos, with all Campana, Cantero, Marti, and Vezo pushing for a start.
The Basques, on the other hand, recorded a very important 2-1 win over Espanyol in midweek to keep their survival hopes alive. Alaves face yet another must-win situation against Levante, and they should take advantage of the fact that the rock-bottom side have nothing to play for in the penultimate game of the season. The good news for the visiting side is that both Ximo Navarro and Edgar Mendez are back from suspension.
Highlighted Player (Coke):
Coke began his professional career at Rayo Vallecano, playing 180 games for the capital club between 2005 and 2011. The pacey full back joined Sevilla in June, 2011 and he made a right decision when he moved to the fellow La Liga side.
The Spanish footballer, who is capable of playing as both full back and a winger, won three UEFA Europa League trophies with los Sevillanos (2014, 2015, 2016) and he made it to the Spanish Cup final in the 2015/2016 season with the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit. Sevilla, though, failed to make life difficult for Barcelona in the title game. After spending five years in Andalusia, Coke signed a three-year contract with Schalke on 31 July, 2016 for a fee of €5 million.
However, before the start of the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign he suffered a serious injury in a warm-up game against Bologna. Speaking of his international career, Coke has one cap for Spain U16, but he has yet to make his debut for the first team.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
