Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Estadi Mallorca Son Moix will host Sunday’s La Liga game between Mallorca and Real Madrid, the two teams with different ambitions for the 2024/2025 La Liga campaign. Los Bermellones are eager to secure yet another top flight survival, while los Blancos are on a quest to defend their trophy. New signing Takuma Asano, who played for Bundesliga side Bochum last term, is widely expected to make his La Liga debut this weekend. Left winger Amath Ndiaye is no longer part of the team.
The reigning champions, on the other hand, did well to sign the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick earlier this summer and seeing that Mallorca suit them, away win should be considered. It has to be noted that Real Madrid have defeated Mallorca in six of the previous seven meetings between the two sides in the national championship. Joselu is no longer part of the team after joining Al Gharafa of Qatar, while German ace Toni Kroos has retired.
Highlighted Player (Kylian Mbappé):
Kylian Mbappe is a French footballer who plays for Paris Saint-Germain as a forward. The French rising star began his youth career at AS Bondy and in 2013 he moved to AS Monaco. After making 12 appearances for Monaco B, Kylian Mbappe made his debut for the senior team in 2015. Mbappe quickly established himself as a regular goalscorer, with the teenager finding the net 15 times in 29 appearances in the Ligue 1 in the 2016/2017 season.
In 2017 he moved to fellow French club PSG on loan, with the option of making the deal permanent. Kylian Mbappe scored 13 goals in 27 appearances for les Parisiens in the 2017/2018 and it has to be noted that Unai Emery’s troops eventually won the national championship.
Speaking of his international career, Mbappe played an important role for France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, with the pacey rising star scoring a brace in a thrilling 4-3 win over Argentina in the last 16 of the showpiece tournament. The PSG attacker was born in Paris on December 20, 1998.
Highlighted Team (Mallorca):
Thanks to a win over Deportivo La Coruna in the 2018/2019 Segunda Division play-offs final Mallorca secured promotion to Primera Division. Los Bermellones returned to the Spanish top flight following a six-year absence. Over the years Mallorca have turned their Estadi de son Moix into a real fortress, with the team producing much better showings at home than on the travels.
Opened in June 1999, the venue can hold up to 23,142 people. The club based in Balearic Islands are well known for their red shirts with one black stripe and black shorts. Mallorca’s away colours are white and red. Former Barcelona and Inter ace Samuel Eto’o is undisputedly the most notable footballer who played for the club.
Back in 1999 Mallorca made it to the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final, with the team suffering a 2-1 loss to Lazio in the title game. Four years later los Bermellones won Spanish Copa del Rey, which is considered the club’s biggest success.
