Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Following a routine 3-0 win over Cadiz, Real Madrid will be aiming to retain top position in the standings when they welcome Granada to their Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon. Los Blancos are leading the chase for the La Liga trophy, but they are only four points clear of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona respectively. In Vinicius Junior’s absence, a man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Jude Bellingham, who sealed the victory against the Yellow Submarine, while all Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eder Militao, and goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois and Kepa Arrizabalaga remain in the recovery room.
Los Granadinos, on the other hand, are stuck in the relegation zone with only seven points on their account and given their shaky defence, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. Defenders Jesus Vallejo and Miguel Angel Rubio should be the only absentees in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Toni Kroos):
Toni Kroos is a Real Madrid midfielder who started playing for Bayern Munich II at senior level. He made 13 appearances for the reserve team and on 31 January, 2009 he joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan. He made his Bayer debut on 28 February, 2009, coming as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Hannover.
The German midfielder scored ten goals in 43 league appearances with the BayArena outfit and in the summer of 2010 he returned to Bayern Munich. Kroos won three Bundesliga trophies with the mighty Bavarian giants (2007/2008, 2012/2013, 2013/2014) and in 2013 he was part of Bayern Munich’s team that won the Champions League trophy.
In 2014, though, he decided to leave the club and the German superstar joined Real Madrid on a six-year-contract. Kroos won the 2015/2016 Champions League trophy with los Blancos and it has to be noted that he produced a thrilling performance in the title game against Atletico Madrid. In 2014 he clinched the FIFA World Cup trophy with Germany.
Highlighted Team (Granada):
Granada are an Andalusian football club that plays in Spanish La Liga. The club were founded on 14 April, 1931 and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy. El Grana, though, booked their place in the Spanish Cup final in 1959, but Barcelona proved to be a big catch for the Andalusian outfit.
Granada host their rivals at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, the stadium that was built in 1995. The capacity of the stadium is 23,934. Granada’s main rivals are fellow Andalusian team Sevilla, but Real Betis are regarded as the club’s bitter rivals as well.
The likes of Yacine Brahimi, Juan Aguero, Gustavo Benitez, Pahinho, Denis Milar, Julio Montero Castillo, Capi, Cesar and Jose Mingorance are famous players that were part of the Estadio El Sadar outfit in the past. The original colour of Granada’s kits were blue and white, but after the Spanish Civil War the club chiefs bought new ones (red and white).
