Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
After defeating Mallorca on the road thanks to Nemanja Gudelj’s wonder goal, Sevilla will look to keep on climbing the standings when they face Valencia in a highly-anticipated La Liga game. Los Sevillanos have been producing much better displays ever since Jorge Sampaoli took over the reins, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to beat los Che in front of home fans.
Wing-back Marcos Acuna is pushing for a recall to the starting XI, while both Kerim Rekik and Jesus Corona remain in the recovery room. The visitors, on the other hand, are relying on experienced attacker Edinson Cavani at the moment as he scored a brace in a 2-2 draw with Elche. Anyhow, home win should be considered as Valencia were beaten by Sevilla in each of their last four encounters at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Samu Castillejo and Jaume Domenech should be the only absentees in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Marko Dmitrovic):
A Red Star Belgrade youth prospect, Serbian goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic never got a chance to shine at his boyhood club. The talented shot-stopper was forced to take a longer road to prominence and travelled through Hungary, England and Spain to find his place under the sun. Spells with Ujpest, Charlton Athletic and Alcoron brought nothing but disappointment for the Serbia ‘keeper, who rose to full prominence at Eibar.
Dmitrovic was voted the best player of Eibar for the 2017/18 season after not missing a single league appearance for Los Armeros. Apart from his footballing exploits, Marko Dmitrovic remains remembered for saving Angel Rodriguez Diaz’s life in a game against Getafe.
Dmitrovic was the one to unintentionally knock Angel to the ground after a duel in the box and was also the first one to pull his tongue out when it became apparent that Angel was lying still on the ground. Marko Dmitrovic is Serbia’s second choice goalkeeper who made his debut in 2017. The Eibar custodian was part of Serbia’s World Cup expedition in Russia but did not get a chance in goal with Vladimir Stojkovic being favoured between the sticks.
Highlighted Team (Valencia):
Founded on March 18, 1919, Valencia FC are a Spanish football club that compete in La Liga. Los Che play their home games at Estadio de Mestalla, the stadium which was opened back in May, 1923. The capacity of the venue is 50,000. Seeing that bats are quite common in Valencia, it is no surprise they are nicknamed the Bats.
Valencia made it to the Champions League final on two occasions (2000, 2001), but they were beaten in the title games by Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen respectively. The Spanish club, though, did well to win the UEFA Cup title in the 2003/2004 season, with the team beating Marseille in the final of the competition.
A number of top-class footballers were part of the club in the past, with the likes of Pablo Aimar, Ruben Baraja, David Albelda, Santiago Canizares, John Carew and Gaizka Mendieta all playing for the Estadio de Mestalla outfit. Valencia main colors are white and black, whilst they often where orange jerseys and shorts when playing on the travels.
