Real Valladolid play host to Girona at their Estadio Jose Zorrilla on day 30 of the 2022/2023 La Liga campaign. La Pucela did well to shock Villarreal in the last league match, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence, but they are still only five points clear of the relegation zone. Boss Paulo Pezzolano will watch the game from the stands following his sending-off in the last league match, while both Lucas Olaza and Anuar are out of contention through injuries.
The Catalan outfit, meanwhile, aim to build on a 2-0 win over Elche, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Valladolid. Since the two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment, we are tempted to put our money on draw. In their last encounter at the venue the two sides played out a 2-2 draw. Both David Lopez and Ibrahima Kebe are sidelined with injuries, while Yangel Herrera faces race against the clock to be fit for Saturday’s encounter.

Having spent eight years going through youth setups of the La Liga heavyweights, Plano was given his competitive debut at Real Madrid C in 2010. More than a 100 matches in three years at Santo Domingo made him one of the key players for Los Alfareros. The Spanish midfielder made a great contribution with helping Valladolid secure promotion to Spanish top flight in 2017/18 with 44 La Liga 2 appearances and 6 goals.

After several unsuccessful attempts, finally secured promotion to Primera Division at the end of the 2016/2017 season. The Catalan outfit finished the campaign in second place in the standings, 14 points behind Levante and only two clear of third-placed Getafe. Girona play their home games at Montilivi and the capacity of the venue is 9.286.
Speaking of the club history, Girona were founded in the café Norat in La Rambla of Girona on July 23, 1930 and they played their first official game against Colonia Artigas. A number of Spanish coaches were in charge of the team in the past, but it has to be noted that Uruguayan tactician Dagoberto Moll (1965/1966) and Karoly Plattko (1948/1949) of Hungary were in charge of the club as well.
