Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Villarreal play host to Real Oviedo at their Estadio de la Ceramica in the opening match of the new La Liga campaign. The Yellow Submarine suffered a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa in their last warm-up game, but it has to be noted that they missed several clear-cut opportunities to score against the Premier League outfit. Summer signing Alberto Moleiro is widely expected to make his official Villarreal debut against Oviedo, while Alex Baena and Thierno Barry have joined Atletico Madrid and Everton respectively this summer.
Meanwhile, Veljko Paunovic’s men have big ambitions for their return to the Spanish top flight. The newcomers, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Villarreal’s party at Estadio de la Ceramica. To make things even worse for the away team, top scorer Alemao completed his move to Mexican club Pachuca earlier this summer.
Highlighted Player (Nicolas Pépé):

Born in France to parents of Ivorian descent, Nicolas Pepe became a full Ivory Coast international in 2016. In a symbolic twist of events, Pepe was handed his Ivory Coast debut in a goalless draw against his birth nation France days after receiving his first-ever call-up.
Pepe began his career in the lower leagues in Poitiers in 2012, before moving to Angers a year later. Having proven his qualities in the second-string side, Pepe was instated in Angers’ first team in 2013. Four years later – which included a season-long loan spell at Orleans – Nicolas Pepe was transferred to Lille. Les Dogues beat several sides to the signature of this pacey winger who is no stranger to scoring goals. Quick with his feet, Pepe can be deployed on the right wing and as a centre-forward.
The Ivory Coast international is unpredictable in his movement and not easy to keep an eye on, especially because of his powerful left foot.
Highlighted Team (Oviedo):

Based in Oviedo, Asturias, Real Oviedo is a Spanish club that plays home games at Carlos Tartiere. Carlos Tartiere is one of the biggest stadiums in Segunda division as it can hold up to 30,500 spectators. Los Azules competed in La Liga in the 1990s, but in the 2001/02 campaign they suffered relegation to Segunda Division.
Real Oviedo have not competed in the Spanish top flight ever since. In the 1991/92 season los Azules represented Spain in the UEFA Cup, but Genoa proved to be a big catch for them in the round of 64. Real Oviedo have a rivalry with Sporting Gijon, with the two teams facing each other in the Asturian derby.
The likes of Robert Prosinecki, Stan Collymore, Dely Valdes, Abel Xavier, Paulo Bento, Marius Lacatus, Viktor Onopko, Ratomir Dujkovic, Juan Mata, Michu, Ibrahima Balde, and Slavisa Jokanovic are the famoust footballers who were part of Oviedo in the past. Carlos Munoz Cobo is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart.
