Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Fir Park will host Saturday’s Premiership game between Motherwell and St. Johnstone. The Well kicked off the new season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over St. Mirren, with experienced Dutch forward Kevin van Veen scoring the only goal of the match. Motherwell aim to give fans yet another reason for celebration, but they will have to do it without Paul McGinn, who has joined Nathan McGinley in the recovery room.
The Saints, on the other hand, will be without suspended midfielder Murray Davidson in the second game of the season. St. Johnstone suffered a 1-0 loss to Hibernian in their opener, and seeing that Motherwell proved their worth at the weekend, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. In their last meeting at the venue Motherwell defeated St. Johnstone 2-0, and we predict that the history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Liam Kelly):
Born in Newport Pagnell, England Liam Kelly is a right-footed midfielder who plays for Coventry City in the League One. Kelly is a product of Milton Keynes Dons football school, but he did not play for the club at senior level. The English footballer started his senior career at Scottish club Kilmarnock, but after making 100 appearances in the league for the Killie, he moved to England, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Bristol City.
The English footballer played for the likes of Oldaham Athletic and Leyton Orient as well before joining Coventry City in the summer of 2017. His main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both defensive and right midfielder as well.
His preferred foot is right. He made his league debut with Coventry City on August 5, 2017 in a 3-0 win over Notts County, while scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win over Stevenage in April, 2018.
Highlighted Team (St Johnstone):
Founded back in 1884, St. Johnstone are Scottish football club that welcome their rivals at McDiarmid Park. The venue, which was opened in August 1989, can hold up to 10,696 spectators. Blue and white are the dominant colours of St Johnstone’s home kit, whereas they wear yellow shirts and white shorts when playing on the road.
The club’s biggest success came in the 2013/2014 season when they defeated Dundee United 2-0 in the Scottish Cup final. Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean scored for the Saints in the match played at Celtic Park, Glasgow. Dundee and Dundee United are the club’s traditional rivals, with the teams facing in the Tayside derbies.
The likes of John Brogan, Joe Carr, Willie Coburn, Roddy Grant, and Henry Hall are the first five members of St Johnston “Hall of Fame.” The Saints recorded their biggest win against Tulloch (13-0) in September 1887, with the team suffering their heaviest defeat to Montrose (11-1) in April 1893.
