Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Following a routine 3-0 win over Livingston, Rangers will be looking to put icing on the cake on a very successful season when they take on Aberdeen in the last round. The Gers did well to put an end to Celtic’s dominance in the Premiership, and they are now on a quest to finish the season with 100+ points. Even though all Arfield, Balogun, Helander, Jack, Katic, Patterson, and Zungu are likely to miss the match with injuries, home win should be considered as the hosts are brimming with confidence ahead of the visit of Aberdeen.
The Dons, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Hibernian, which is yet another reason why we are going to put our money on Steven Gerrard’s troops. You should bear in mind that Rangers are eyeing their fourth consecutive win over Aberdeen in the Scottish top flight. The likes of Devlin, Leigh, Lewis, McCrorie, and Taylor are out of contention for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Jon McLaughlin):
Jon McLaughlin is a goalkeeper who plays for Sunderland. The 188-cm-tall shoot-stopper played for non-League sides Harrogate Railway Athletic and Harrogate Town in the past, but in 2008 he joined Bradford City. After spending six years at Valley Parade, McLaughlin signed a contract with Burton Albion and he has been playing for the Pirelli Stadium outfit ever since.
Jon McLaughlin made 45 appearances for Burton Albion in both 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons and he has established his self as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper. He was producing scintillating displays for Burton in the 2015/2016 League One campaign and, no doubt, he helped the team secure promotion to the Championship.
Jon McLaughlin was born on 9 September, 1987 in Edinburgh, but he has yet to make his debut for the Scotland national team. Speaking of his honours, the goalkeeper won the Football League Two play-offs with Bradford City in the 2012/2013 season.
Highlighted Team (Aberdeen):
Nicknamed the Dons, Aberdeen are professional football club that compete in the Scottish Premiership. Pittodrie Stadium is the club’s home ground, and it can hold up to 20,866 spectators. The Dons were one of the dominant forces in Scottish football during Sir Alex Ferguson’s era, with the team winning three Scottish League titles from 1980 to 1985.
However, Aberdeen clinched their first domestic trophy in the 1954/55 season, with the team finishing the process three points clear of Scottish giants Celtic. The club’s biggest success came in the 1982/83 season when they defeated the famous Spanish club Real Madrid 2-1 in the title game. Later in 1983, Aberdeen won the UEFA Super Cup as they defeated Hamburger SV 2-0 at Volksparkstadion.
The Dons are well known for their red home kit, while away shirt has a shiny gold base colour. Inverness Caledonian are considered one of the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the North derby.
