Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Rangers and Ross County face each other at Hampden Park in a David-vs-Goliath clash. The Gers quickly recovered from the Champions League loss to Dynamo Kyiv, with the team beating St Johnstone in the League Cup and they are now on a quest to put an extra pressure on league leaders Celtic. Summer signing Robin Propper should bet fit for Saturday’s clash despite limping off with injury at the weekend, while all Ridvan Yilmaz, Oscar Cortes, and Nicolas Raskin remain in the recovery room.
The Staggies, on the other hand, suffered an embarrassing loss to lower-league side Spartans in the League Cup last 16 and they face yet another uphill task in Glasgow. In their last meeting at Ibrox Rangers defeated Ross County 3-1 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. Both Ricki Lamie and Max Sheaf are out of contention with injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Tom Lawrence):
Tom Lawrence is a Welsh footballer who plays as a winger for Championship side Derby County. Born in Wrexham (Wales) on January 13, 1994, Tom Lawrence played for Everton and Manchester United during his youth career.
The 180-cm-tall footballer, though, made no more than one appearances for the Red Devils in the Premier League as he was immediately sent on loan to Carlisle United. The Wales international played for the likes of Yeovil Town, Leicester City, Rotherham United, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Ipswich Town as well before signing a contract with Derby County. Tom Lawrence’s main position is left winger, but he is used as both second striker and right winger as well.
The Derby County man made his Wales debut in November 2015 in a 3-2 loss to Netherlands. The highlight of his career is the goal he scored against Georgia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. His preferred foot is right and he wears No. 10 jersey at Derby County.
Highlighted Team (Ross County):
Founded back in 1929, Ross County are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premier League. The Staggies welcome their rivals at Victoria Park, the stadium which can accommodate up to 6,541 (all-seated) people. Ross County have a bitter rivalry with fellow Highlanders Inverness Caledonian, with the two teams facing each other in Highland derby.
The Staggies recorded their biggest win against St Cuthbert Wanderers (11-0) in the 1993/94 Scottish Cup round 1, whereas their biggest loss came in the third round of the 1961/62 Scottish Cup campaign, with the team suffered a 7-0 defeat to Kilmarnock. Michael Gardyne, who scored 71 goals in 392 appearances for Ross County, is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart.
Ross County have never won the Scottish Premier League trophy, but they did well to make it to the Scottish Cup final in the 2009/10 season. The Staggies were beaten by Dundee United (0-3) in the title game at Hampden Park, Glasgow.
