Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Global Energy Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between Ross County and Hibernian, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. The Staggies suffered a dip in form, with the team losing to both St. Mirren and Dundee FC in the previous two league matches and, as a result, the bookies see them as underdogs in the round 19 clash. All Dylan Smith, Ross Callachan, and Ben Paton are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Hibs, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to St Johnstone. Hibernian have been having their ups and downs on the road of late and, taking everything into account, we predict that the two sides are going to share the spoils at Global Energy Stadium. In their last meeting in the Scottish top flight the two clubs played out a 2-2 draw. The visitors will be without Adam Le Fondre, Jake Doyle-Hayes, and Chris Cadden in Saturday’s encounter.
Highlighted Player (Christian Doidge):
Over the years Christian Doidge has established himself as one of the best attackers in Scotland Premiership. Born on August 25, 1992 in Newport, Doidge is a Wales international who plays for Hibernian in the Scottish top flight.
He is a product of the Southampton football academy, but he did not see any game action in the Premier League with the Saints. The towering striker played for Bristol Rovers during his youth career as well before joining Cwmbran Celtic at senior level. He played for the likes of Barry Town, Carmanthen Town, Dag & Red, Dartford (loan), Forest Green Rovers, and Bolton Wanderers (loan) as well before signing a deal with the Hibs.
Christian Doidge made his Scotland Premier League debut on August 3, 2019 in a 1-0 win over St. Mirren. The Wales attacker scored his first league goal for the Hibs against the same opponent three months late. Doidge has yet to receive a call-up for the Wales national football team.
Highlighted Team (Ross County):
Founded back in 1929, Ross County are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premier League. The Staggies welcome their rivals at Victoria Park, the stadium which can accommodate up to 6,541 (all-seated) people. Ross County have a bitter rivalry with fellow Highlanders Inverness Caledonian, with the two teams facing each other in Highland derby.
The Staggies recorded their biggest win against St Cuthbert Wanderers (11-0) in the 1993/94 Scottish Cup round 1, whereas their biggest loss came in the third round of the 1961/62 Scottish Cup campaign, with the team suffered a 7-0 defeat to Kilmarnock. Michael Gardyne, who scored 71 goals in 392 appearances for Ross County, is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart.
Ross County have never won the Scottish Premier League trophy, but they did well to make it to the Scottish Cup final in the 2009/10 season. The Staggies were beaten by Dundee United (0-3) in the title game at Hampden Park, Glasgow.
