Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Saturday’s football game at the SMISA Stadium pits together St. Mirren and St. Johnstone, the two teams with entirely different ambitions for the 2023/2024 Premiership campaign. St Johnstone’s main goal is to avoid relegation, while St. Mirren are eyeing a top-six finish and a spot in European competitions. The hosts aim to recover from a 3-0 loss to Rangers and they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways in the national championship. Ryan Strain misses out through suspension, while fellow midfielder Jonah Ayunga has yet to overcome an ACL injury.
The Saints, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom with only four points on their account. The rock-bottom side obviously struggle in front of goal, with the team netting only three goals in the process and, taking everything into account, they are unlikely to spoil St. Mirren’s party at the SMISA Stadium. Alistair Crawford and Callum Booth should be the only absentees in the away team.
