Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Alaves will be aiming to climb to the automatic promotion berth when they take on Malaga on Matchday 41. The Basques failed to win the previous three league matches, but the bookies still see them as favourites to pick up all three points from Saturday’s clash. Keep in mind, though, that both Luis Rioja and Carlos Benavidez are banned for the match, while Nikola Maras misses out with a meniscus problem.
Los Boquerones, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-0 win over Mirandes. Malaga, though, failed to secure the La Liga 2 survival, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on the promotion-chasing hosts this time out. As for the away team, all Rodriguez, Abaida, and Olmo are out of contention with injuries. In the first half of the season Malaga defeated Alaves thanks to Pablo Cahvarria’s goal, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Player (Álex Gallar):
Alex Gallar is a Spanish footballer, who plays for Huesca in La Liga. Alex Gallar’s main position is left winger, but he is used as both right winger and left midfielder as well. Born in Terrasa (Spain) on March 19, 1992, Alex Gallar began his youth career at his hometown club Terrasa, but in 2010 he moved to Mallorca youth academy.
Speaking of his senior career, Alex Gallar played for Terrassa, Mallorca B, Murcia B, Rubi, Cornella, Hercules and Cultural Leonesa before joining Huesca in 2017. Gallar quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Huesca and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 24 appearances for the El Alcoraz outfit in the 2017/2018 Segunda Division campaign.
The Spanish winger helped Huesca secure promotion to La Liga, with the player making his debut in the Spanish elite division in a 2-1 away win over Eibar. Alex Gallar’s contract with Huesca should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
