Rayo Vallecano
Sunday’s football game at Estadio Municipal de Santo Domingo pits together Alcorcon and Rayo Vallecano, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. Alcorcon are determined to avoid relegation to Segunda B, while Rayo are eyeing promotion to the Spanish elite division. The relegation strugglers did well to hold Almeria to a goalless draw on day 29, but it has to be noted that the Andalusians failed to turn their dominance into goals.
Los Vallecanos, on the other hand, are eager to stay in the playoffs berth. Even though Rayo are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to put our money on the promotion-chasing visitors, who proved their worth in a 3-2 win over Zaragoza. In the first half of the season Rayo defeated Alcorcon 3-2 in the suburbs of Madrid thanks to David Fernandez’s late own goal.

Born in Accra, Ghana on July 10, 1992, Richard Boateng is a midfielder who plays for Alcorcon in Segunda Division. Boateng is a product of Liberty Babies football academy, with the Ghanaian starting his senior career at Liberty Professionals. In 2010 he moved to Spain, signing a deal with Granada.
During his spell with the Andalusian outfit, he mainly played for Granada B, but he spent a couple of years at loan at Cadiz B and San Roque as well. Richard Boateng made only one appearance for the Granada senior team in the league.
The Ghana international played for the likes of Aris Limassol, Extremadura, Melilla, and Oviedo as well before joining Alcorcon in 2019. His primary position is central midfielder, but he is used as an attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right, and his contract with Alcorcon should expire in June 2021.

Rayo Vallecano is a Spanish football club from the Valleas neighbourhood in Madrid and are founded in the year 1924. The club is playing in the Primera Division since 2011 after being in active in the lower divisions for a longer period of time. Rayo Vallecano currently plays it’s home games in the Teresa Rivero Stadium which is also known as the Nuevo Vallecas stadium and holds a capacity of 15 500 seats. The Nuevo Vallecas stadium is one of the smallest ones in the Primera Division. The club colors of Rayo Vallecano are white and red and is also known as Los Vallecanos. Rayo Vallecano is known for it’s ultra’s which are radical left winged political sided.
In the clubs history Rayo Vallecano never won any big prizes. The biggest achievement was in 2000 when the club qualified for the UEFA Cup after winning the Fair Play spot. Rayo Vallecano was one of the biggest surprises in Europe that season and even managed to get to the quarter finals where Rayo got eliminated by Deportivo Alaves. There are a lot of famous players that played for Rayo Vallecano during their career such as: Julen Lopetegui, Jordi Figueras, Victor Onokpo and Ismael Urzaiz.
