Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Fuenlabrada and Girona go head to head at Estadio Fernando Torres in the La Liga 2 round 13. Following back-to-back goalless draw with Ponferradina and Amorebieta, Fuenla suffered a 3-1 loss to UD Ibiza in their last league match. Jose Luis Oltra’s troops are undefeated in the previous five home games, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Girona.
The Catalan outfit, on the other hand, have been struggling in the first half of the season, and, as a result, they sit in the relegation zone ahead of Matchday 13. Girona are not regarded as good travelers, and seeing that Fuenla have been producing fine displays at home of late, we predict that the visitors will return to Catalonia empty-handed. Veteran attacker Stuani should be recalled to Girona’s starting XI after scoring as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Zaragoza.
Highlighted Player (Adrian Dieguez):
Born in Madrid on February 4, 1996, Adrian Dieguez is a Spanish defender who play for Fuenlabrada in Segunda Division. Dieguez played for the likes of Getafe and Carabanchel during his youth career, while starting his senior career at Alcorcon B.
After making five appearances for the Alcorcon senior team, the Spanish footballer moved to Alaves. Adrian Dieguez played for Huesca on loan as well before signing a four-year contract with Fuenlabrada. During his spell with Alcorcon Dieguez played for Fuenla on loan, meaning that he returned to the club three years later. His main position is centre-back, but he is used as a left-back as well.
The towering defender has a contract with Fuenlabrada until September 15, 2020, and his preferred foot is left. Adrian Dieguez made his Fuenlabrada debut in a 3-3 draw with Las Palmas on September 20, 2020, and he scored his first goal for Fuenla in a 1-0 victory over Girona on October 4, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Girona):
After several unsuccessful attempts, finally secured promotion to Primera Division at the end of the 2016/2017 season. The Catalan outfit finished the campaign in second place in the standings, 14 points behind Levante and only two clear of third-placed Getafe. Girona play their home games at Montilivi and the capacity of the venue is 9.286.
Speaking of the club history, Girona were founded in the café Norat in La Rambla of Girona on July 23, 1930 and they played their first official game against Colonia Artigas. A number of Spanish coaches were in charge of the team in the past, but it has to be noted that Uruguayan tactician Dagoberto Moll (1965/1966) and Karoly Plattko (1948/1949) of Hungary were in charge of the club as well.
The Catalan team wear white shirts with red stripes when playing at home, while the colour of their shorts is blue. The team’s away kits are blue and black and Sporting Gijon are considered one of Girona’s fiercest rivals.
