Thursday’s football game between Granada and Sporting Gijon will put icing on the cake on day 10 of the new Segunda Division campaign. Los Granadinos have been struggling to find their best form of late, with the team failing to win the previous three league fixtures, but the bookies still see them as one of the main favourites for promotion. Erick Cabaco is back from suspension, while experienced midfielder Ruben Rochina is widely expected to return to the starting XI.
Los Rojiblancos, on the other hand, did well to beat Villarreal B 3-1 on home soil, but given their ups and downs on the road, we believe that the time has come for Granada to return to winning ways. Aitor Garcia suffered an injury in the triumph over the Yellow Submarine B, with fellow forward Dani Queipo likely to step up.

Born in Bilbao, Spain on March 13, 1988 Raul Fernandez is a 196-cm-tall goalkeeper who plays for La Liga side Levante. Fernandez played for the youth team of his home-town club Athletic Bilbao from 1998 to 2006 and he began his senior career at fellow Basque outfit Basconia. After making 29 appearances for the club in the 2006/2007 season Raul Fernandez returned to Athletic Bilbao in 2007 and it has to be noted that he played 19 games for the reserve team.
After spending the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons on loan at Conquense and Granada respectively the Spanish shoot-stopper started playing for Athletic Bilbao at senior level, but he made only five appearances for the Lions in La Liga.
In 2013 Raul Fernandez was loaned to Numancia and after ending his loan spell with los Rojillos he moved to Raving Santander. Nowadays the Basque footballer is a part of La Liga team Levante and you should know that he managed to keep 17 clean sheets in 33 appearances for los Levantinos in the 2016/2017 Segunda Division campaign.

Sporting Gijon are a Spanish football club that competes in La Liga. Sporting Gijon’s home ground is El Molinon, the stadium that was built in 1908. El Molinon is the oldest football field in Spain and the capacity of the stadium is 30,000. Sporting Gijon’s home kit is red and white and the club’s main rivals are Real Oviedo.
The two teams take on each other in the Asturian derby. Sporting Gijon did remarkably well to finish the 1978/1979 La Liga campaign in second position in the standings and that is considered the club’s biggest success.
