Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Estadio de Gran Canaria will host Sunday’s football game between Las Palmas and Sporting Gijon, the two teams with totally different ambitions in the season finale. La Union Deportiva aim to recovery from a heavy 4-1 loss to Tenerife, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at los Rojiblancos. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but both Marc Cardona and Sandro Ramirez remain doubtful.
Meanwhile, the visitors head into the match following a goalless draw with Burgos. Sporting Gijon are eager to escape the danger zone, but seeing that Las Palmas have turned their stadium into a real fortress, we do not believe that Miguel Angel Ramirez’s men are capable of grabbing something from the match. In the first half of the season Las Palmas defeated Sporting Gijon thanks to Carlos Izquierdos’ own goal.
Highlighted Player (Vitolo):

Over the years Victor Machin Perez - Vitolo has established himself as one of Sevilla’s key players. The pacey winger, who is capable of playing as a forward as well, won his third consecutive Europa League trophy with los Sevillanos in 2016.
Vitolo was born in Las Palmas on 2 November, 1989 and he played for his home-town club Las Palmas from 2010 to 2013. The Spanish footballer joined Sevilla on 28 June, 2013 and, no doubt, he made the right decision when he moved to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Vitolo played one game for Spain in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, but he failed to make the final cut.
However, he established himself as a first-team regular under Julen Lopetegui. Vitolo scored his first goal for La Furia Roja in an 8-0 win over Liechtenstein and he provided an assist for David Silva as well. He has a contract with Sevilla which expires on 30 June, 2020.

The two teams take on each other in the Asturian derby. Sporting Gijon did remarkably well to finish the 1978/1979 La Liga campaign in second position in the standings and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Los Rojiblancos were runners-up in Spanish Copa Del Rey in 1981 and 1982, but they have yet to win the Spanish Cup.
The club was founded in 1905 and the club’s original name was Sporting Gijones. Sporting Gijon participated in the UEFA Cup on six occasions, but they did not record a good result in the European competition.
