Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
All eyes will be on Estadio Ciutat de Valencia when Levante and Espanyol face each other in the La Liga 2 derby. Los Levantinos made a promising start to the season and they surely want to extend their unbeaten run to five games this weekend. Both Sergio Postigo and Andres Garcia are major doubts, while Jose Campana and Pablo Martinez should miss out with injuries.
Los Periquitos, on the other hand, have a chance to climb to top position in the standings. Beating Levante in Valencia, though, is easier said than accomplished and, taking everything into account, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on draw. Brian Olivan limped off with injury in a 3-2 win over Amorebieta, with Ramon likely to step up, whilst both Keita Balde (hamstring) and Cesar Montes (personal) remain on the sidelines.
Highlighted Player (José Campaña):
Jose Campana is a Spanish footballer who plays for Levante in La Liga as a midfielder. Born in Seville on May 31, 1993, Campana began his youth career in his home-town club Sevilla and he eventually played 20 games in La Liga for the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit.
In 2013 he moved to England, signing a contract with Crystal Palace, but he made no more than six appearances in the league for the capital club. After ending his loan spell with Nurnberg in 2014, Jose Campana joined Serie A side Sampdoria, but he was immediately sent on loan to Porto. The Spanish midfielder played no more than two games for Porto in Primeira Liga and in 2015 he signed a loan deal with Spanish Segunda Division side Alcorcon.
In the summer of 2016 Campana moved to Levante and he has been playing for los Levantinos ever since. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as both defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Espanyol):
Espanyol are a Catalan club that plays in Spanish La Liga. Espanyol were founded in 1900 and their original name was Sociedad Espanola de Football. In 1901 the Catalan club changed its name to Club Espanol de Futbol. Los Periquitos used to play in bright yellow shirts in the past, but current colour of the team’s home kit is blue and white.
Espanyol’s fiercest rivals are Barcelona and the two teams face each other in the Catalan derby (Derbi barceloni). Espanyol have always been in Barca’s shadow, but it has to be noted that los Periquitos have won four Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup trophies).
The likes of Raul Tamudo, Jose Maria, Antonio Argiles and Mauricio Pochettino are players with most appearances for the Catalan outfit. Espanyol play their home games at Estadio Cornella-El Prat and the capacity of the stadium is 40,500. Los Periquitos have never participated in the Champions League.
