Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Estadio Municipal de Anduva will host Saturday’s Segunda Division game between Mirandes and Albacete, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table. Los Rojillos suffered a 1-0 loss to Real Oviedo in their last league match, but a win over Albacete should see them escape the relegation zone. There are no fresh selection worries in the home team, but talented forward Roberto Lopez could sneak into the starting XI.
El Queso Mecanico, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-1 win over Racing Santander. Albacete have a chance to climb to the playoffs berth, but seeing that Mirandes are tough to beat home, the share of spoils is on the horizon. Both Boyomo and Rodriguez Perez are back to contention after the duo misses the Santander game through suspension. You should know that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of the previous three meetings between the two sides.
Highlighted Player (Manu Garcia):
Manu Garcia is a product of Real Sociedad youth academy. The Spanish midfielder, who was born on 26 April, 1986, started playing for Real Sociedad B at the age of 19, making 101 appearances for the Basque outfit between 2005 and 2008. He scored 18 goals for Real Sociedad B and, as a result, Eibar chiefs decided to sign him in July, 2008. Manu Garcia spent the 2008/2009 season on loan at Real Union, scoring eight goals in 29 appearances for the club and in 2010 he joined Logrones.
Finally, in June 2012 he made probably the best decision of his career as he signed a contract with Segunda Division side Deportivo Alaves. Manu Garcia made 37 appearances for El Glorioso on his debut season and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular.
Garcia scored five goals for Alaves in the 2015/2016 Segunda Division campaign and, no doubt, he helped the team secure promotion to Primera Division. He has a contract with Alaves which expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Albacete):
Established during the World War II (August, 1940), Albacete are a Spanish club that welcome their rivals at Carlos Belmonte, the stadium with the capacity of 17,524 people. Albacete compete in Segunda Division nowadays, but during the 1990s they established themselves as the La Liga regular.
Their best ranking in the Spanish top flight came in the 1991/92 season when they finished the campaign in 7th position in the standings. El Queso Mecanico (Clockwork Cheese) have never represented Spain in European competitions. Legendary Spain international Andres Iniesta is the symbol of the club. Born in Albacete, Iniesta helped his hometown club avoid the bankruptcy in December 2011 as he became the club’s major shareholder.
As a result, Iniesta was honoured with a statue in his home province of Albacete. El Queso Mecanico wear white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, while black and purple are the dominant colours of their away kit.
