Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Cartagena and Real Oviedo, Real Valladolid will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Burgos on Matchday 8. La Pucela are seen as one of the main candidates for promotion, but they need to keep on improving their game if they are secure a top-two finish. Both Anuar and Javi Sanchez are sidelined with injuries, but they should be the only absentees in the home team.
Burgos, on the other hand, continue with their old habit of producing fine showings at home, while struggling on the travels. As Valladolid have turned their Estadio Jose Zorilla into a real fortress, we are tempted to put our money on the home side. The visitors will be without injured duo Grego Sierra – Unai Elgezabal in Sunday’s encounter. In their last meeting at the venue Valladolid defeated Burgos 1-0 thanks to Cristos’ goal.

Jordi Masip is yet another La Masia product. Masip began his youth career at Mercantil, but in 2004 he joined the famous Barcelona football academy. The 180-cm-tall goalkeeper was struggling to establish himself as a first-team regular in Barcelona at senior level, but he played for Barca B in Segunda Division from 2008 to 2014.
After making 79 appearances for Barcelona B, Jordi Masip finally made his senior debut for the Catalan giants on December 16, 2014 in a 8-1 win over Huesca. The two teams faced in Copa del Rey and it has to be noted that Masip made his La liga debut for Barca in a 2-2 draw with Deportivo La Coruna in May, 2014.
In 2017 the Spanish shot-stopper born in Sabadell signed a three-year deal with Real Valladolid. Masip quickly established himself as a first-team regular at La Pucela and you should know that he managed to keep 11 clean sheets in 42 appearances for the club in the 2017/2018 Segunda Division campaign.

Real Valladolid is a Spanish club based in Valladolid, the part of the autonomous community of Castille and Leon. Founded in 1928, Real Valladolid play their home matches at Jose Zorilla, the venue that has the capacity 26,512. La Pucela have yet to win the La Liga title, but it is important to note that they finished fourth at the end of the 1962/1963 season.
