Our prediction for this Serie A match:
After rolling over Genoa 4-1 in their opener, Fiorentina will look to retain top position in the standings with a triumph over Lecce on Matchday 2. The Viola looked sharp in front of goal in the victory over the Rossoblu and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Lecce. The good news for the hosts is that Ivory Coast international Christian Kouame returns from suspension, while both Antonin Barak and Gaetano Castrovilli remain in the treatment room.
The Giallorossi, on the other hand, came from behind to beat Lazio in front of home fans, but they will have a mountain to climb in Sunday’s clash. Lecce are not considered good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp in the Serie A round 2. Federico Di Francesco is pushing for a start after scoring a late winner against the Biancocelesti, while defender Lorenzo Venuti remains on the sidelines with a shoulder problem.
Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):
Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.
The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.
Highlighted Team (Lecce):
When you imagine a yellow-red shirt, Lecce must be the first club that comes to your mind. Founded back in 1908, Lecce are Italian club that will compete in the Serie A in the 2019/2020 season. The Giallorossi return to the Italian top flight following a seven-year absence and, as always, they will host their rivals at Stadio Via del Mare.
The venue which was opened on September 11, 1966 can hold up to 33,876 people. The likes of Antonio Conte, Graziano Pelle, Javier Chevanton, Juan Cuadrado, Mirko Vucinic, Fabrizio Miccoli and Massimo Oddo are one of the most notable footballers who played for the Italian club in the past.
Lecce and Gallipoli face each other in the Salento derby and there have been fireworks in meetings between the two clubs since the 2009/2010 Serie B season when they first met in the league.
