Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris will be packed when Genoa and Fiorentina lock horns in the opening match of the season. The newcomers are eager to impress on their return to the Serie A, but they face a tough challenged in their opener. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be summer signing Mateo Retegui, who is expected to make immediate impact, while midfielder Marko Pajac misses out with an ACL injury.
The Viola, on the other hand, did well to make it to the Conference League final last season and, as a result, they booked their place in the qualifiers for the new edition of the UEFA competition. Fiorentina chiefs have added the likes of Yerry Mina, M’Bala Nzola, Fabiano Parisi, and Lucas Beltran to the squad in the summer transfer window, but Igor, Arthur Cabral, Aleksa Terzic, and Youssef Maleh are no longer parts of the season. Anyhow, the share of spoils is on the cards at “Luigi Ferraris” as Genoa are tough to beat at home.
Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):
Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.

His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.
