Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Inter will be aiming to build on a splendid 5-0 victory over Verona when they take on Parma at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Matchday 15. The Nerazzurri are eager to stay in the Champions League berth and they are seen as hot favourites to beat the newcomers in front of home fans. As Simone Inzaghi’s men were not in action at the weekend, home win should definitely be considered. Both Carlos Augusto and Francesco Acerbi are major doubts, while France defender Benjamin Pavard remains on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
The Gli Emiliani, on the other hand, have suffered only one loss on the road this term and they must be high on spirits following a 3-1 win over Lazio. Inter, though, have turned their stadium into a real fortress and we do not believe that the underdogs are capable of claiming a major scalp in round 15. All Adrian Bernabe, Alessandro Circati, and Mateusz Kowalski will be assessed ahead of the kick-off, speaking of the away team.
Highlighted Player (Hakan Calhanoglu):
Hakan Calhanoglu is another one in the long line of Turkish footballers who were born in Germany, so it is hardly surprising he came to prominence thanks to his performances in Bundesliga. The attacking midfielder with great vision and very good goalscoring record started his professional career at Karlsruher, scoring impressive 17 goals in 50 league outings to earn a move to Bundesliga side Hamburg.
The spell at Imtech Arena was merely a stepping stone for bigger things as 11 goals in his debut top flight campaign persuaded Bayer Leverkusen to splash nearly €15 million on his services. That proved a very good investment as Calhanoglu continued the rich vein of form, and it is now a matter of time before he joins one of European powerhouses.
The midfield maestro had a bright start to his career in the Turkey national team, scoring 5 goals in first 16 caps, and chances are he will become a leader for Milli Takim in the foreseeable future.
Highlighted Team (Parma):
Founded in 1913, Parma is considered one of the most famous Italian clubs. The Gialloblu play home games in white shirts with a dark blue cross and dark blue shorts. Speaking of their away colours, Parma footballers wear yellow-blue kits on the travels. Parma have yet to win the Serie A trophy, but they did well to lift the UEFA Cup trophy on two occasions (1994/1995, 1998/1999).
To make things even better for Parma fans, the Gialloblu won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1992/1993 season, with the team beating Royal Antwerp in the title game 3-1. A number of top-class footballers played for Parma in the past: Hernan Crespo, Roberto Mancini, Juan Veron, Roberto Mancini, Dino Baggio, Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluigi Buffon.
The Gialloblu welcome their rivals at Stadio Ennio Tardini, which was opened in 1923. The venue can hold up to 27,906 spectators. Bologna are considered Parma’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks in matches between the two sides.
