Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Lecce will look to impress on their return to Serie A when they take on Inter at Stadio Via del Mare in the opening match of the season. The Giallorossi have already suffered elimination in Coppa Italia, with the team losing to Cittadella in their opener, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as underdogs in Saturday’s clash. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, while summer signing Lameck Banda is likely to make his Serie A debut against Inter.
The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, are on a quest to regain Scudetto, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the newcomers. A man to watch in the away team will be Romelu Lukaku, who returned to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit earlier this summer, and seeing that Simone Inzaghi has a full squad to choose from, away win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Fabio Lucioni):
Fabio Lucioni is a product of Ternana football school. Lucioni played for the youth team of Ternana from 2002 to 2005 and he eventually made 14 appearances for the first team. The 185-cm-tall defender played for the likes of Monopoli, Noicattaro, Gela, Barletta, Spezia and Reggina in the past as well before joining Benevento in 2014.
Lucioni has established himself as a first-team regular at the club and it has to be noted that he scored three goals in 46 appearances for Benevento in the 2016/2017 Serie B campaign. The Stregoni secured promotion to the Serie A by beating Carpi in the play-offs final, meaning that Lucioni will have a chance to test a top-flight football in the 2017/2018 season.
Lucioni’s main position is centre-back and his contract with Benevento expires on June 30, 2018. The left-footed defender, who was born in Terni on September 25, 1987, has yet to earn a call-up for the Italian national football team.
Highlighted Team (Inter):
Internazionale Milano, known as Internazionale, Inter or Inter named Milan, is a football club from Italy, founded on March 9, 1908 by a number of "rebels" who did not like in the regulations of the Milan Cricket and Football Club, now known as AC Milan. The main objection was that no foreign players were allowed. In 1928 the club merged with US Milanese and strongly entered a time when Ambrosiana-Inter survived.
The club, nicknamed the Nerazzurri or the blue / blacks has had many successes. This is how Inter Milan won 18 national titles, seven times the Italian Cup, the UEFA Cup 3x, and 3x times the Champions League, formerly known as the European Cup I.
