Venezia will be desperate to give fans some cheer after losing their opening six Serie A matches, including a 3-1 defeat to Atalanta. The Lagunari have struggled badly at the back, conceding 2.50 goals per game at home, and their problems have now cost Giovanni Stroppa his job, with the club dismissing the coach on October 13. Thierry Correia’s injury adds to their concerns, leaving Richie Sagrado in contention to step into the defence.
