Bravida Arena will host Wednesday’s football game between Hacken and Orebro, the two bottom-table sides. Against all odds, Hacken have yet to record a win in the new Allsvenskan campaign, but it seems as if they will not have a better chance than this to get back on course. Even though all Abrahamsson, Irandust, and Tuominen are sidelined with injuries, home win should be ... Read More...

Allsvenskan Predictions by FootballPredictions.com

Allsvenskan is the Swedish top football league. The Allsvenskan was established on January 13, 1924, replacing Svenska Serien which consisted of a southern and northern group.

It was not before 1931 when the league began to decide the Swedish football champions. Nowadays 16 teams compete in the Swedish elite division, with seasons running from March or April to early November.

We at FootballPredictions.com decide to start covering the Swedish national league from the 2019 season. We believe this league has a high potential and is a hidden gem. Because bookmakers aren’t very familiar with the league and we have years of experience in the industry we know how to spot value and win big amounts of bets by using our football tips.

Allsvenskan tips, predictions and betting advice

A number of bettors enjoy putting their money on Allsvenskan games as title-chasing sides are tough to beat at home. Betting on home teams in the Swedish top flight could prove to be a boost for your banking account, but when it comes to betting on total number of goals, you should know that the Allsvenskan clubs are not known for their attacking style of play.

One goal often separates the two sides in the Swedish elite division fixtures, but, as previously mentioned, we strongly recommend you to bet on home teams, especially on the sides who sit in the top half of the standings.

Allsvenskan league format

Since 2008 16 clubs compete for the Allsvenskan title. Each and every team plays 30 games in total (home and away) during the course of the season, with top-placed side lifting the trophy at the end of the campaign.

The two last-placed clubs suffer elimination to the Superettan at the end of the season, with top two teams from the Swedish second tier being promoted in their place. The third lowest-placed teams take on third-placed team in the Superettan in the relegation play-off.

Speaking of European competitions, the Allsvenskan champion books a place in the Champions League, whereas both second and third-placed teams qualify for the Europa League. The Svenska Cup winner is Sweden representative in the Europa League as well

If the Swedish Cup winner qualified for the European competitions earlier, the fourth-placed team in the Allsvenskan books a place in the Europa League.

Similar to other football leagues, three points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 points for a loss in the Allsvenskan.  When it comes to table order, the clubs are ranked by total number of points, then goal difference and eventually total goals scored.

The Allsvenskan champions receive the Lennart Johanssons Pokal at the end of the season. The trophy was established in 2001 and named after former UEFA president Lennart Johansson.

In addition to this trophy, the Allsvenskan awards the most valuable player, goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward of the year at the end of each and every season. Both manager and top scorer of the year receive the award at Allsvenskans stora pris as well.
