Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
David faces Goliath at Estadio Algavre as Gibraltar and Czech Republic go head to head in the 2026 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday evening. Gibraltar suffered a 3-1 loss to Montenegro in their opener, but their display in the Stadion Gradski clash was anything but poor, especially in the first half. Bearing any fresh injury worries, boss Scott Wiseman is unlikely to make changes to the team that faced Montenegro.
The Czechs, on the other hand, kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Faroe Islands. Bayer Leverkusen attacker Patrik Schick, who scored a brace in the Group L opener, is likely to prove a handful for the Gibraltar back-line. Anyhow, anything but a routine away win would be a big surprise as Czech Republic boss Ivan Hasek has a number of high-profile players to choose from. Defender Tomas Holes has joined forward Adam Hlozek in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Patrik Schick):

Patrick Schick is a Czech Republic international who plays for Sampdoria as a striker. Schick was born in Prague on January 24, 1996 and he started his career at the youth team of his home-town club Sparta Prague. The 187-cm-tall attacker, played only four games for the capital club before moving to Bohemians 1905 on loan in 2015.
After ending his loan spell with the Klokani, Patrick Schick moved to Italy, signing a deal with Serie A side Sampdoria for a fee of €4 million. The Czech footballer has been playing for La Samp ever since and you should know that he scored 11 goals in 32 appearances for the club in the 2016/2017 Serie A campaign.
The talented striker, who is very good in the air, scored on his debut for Czech Republic in a 6-0 win over Malta in May 2016. Patrick Schick’s preferred foot is left and his contract with Sampdoria should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Gibraltar):

Gibraltar played their first unofficial match against Jersey in the 1993 Island Games. The Gibraltarians suffered a 2-1 loss to Jersey, but they did well to hold Slovakia to a goalless draw in their first official international match. Gibraltar participated in the 2016 World Cup qualifiers and they were drawn in Group D alongside Germany, Poland, Georgia, Republic of Ireland and Scotland.
They failed to impress on their debut in the World Cup qualifiers and it has to be noted that the minnows suffered a loss in each of their ten group games (goal difference 2:56). Gibraltar recorded their first ever win against Malta on April 6, 2014 and that is considered the team’s biggest success.
Danny Higginbotham, who played for the likes of Manchester United, Southampton, Sunderland, Stoke City and Sheffield United during his professional career, has three caps for Gibraltar national football team and he is considered the greatest player who whore Gibraltar shirt. The Gibraltarians play their home games at Estadio Algarve, speaking of qualifying matches.
