Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
Rwanda and Uganda square off against each other at Stade Regional Nyamirambo in a highly-anticipated World Cup qualifier. Rwanda kicked off their WC qualifying campaign with a 1-0 loss at Mali, with the team sharing the spoils with Kenya in their second group game. The Amavubi are desperate to keep their automatic qualification hopes alive, but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for Vincent Mashami’s troops. The good news for the hosts is that Lyon – La Duchere defender Bryan-Clovis Ngwabije has overcome his injury. Attacker Lague Byiringiro, though, will not feature in the October qualifiers due to the injury he suffered in the 1-1 draw with Kenya.
Uganda played out goalless draws with both Kenya and Mali in the first two group games, and seeing that they will rely on their rock-solid defence in Thursday’s qualifier, a low-scoring affair is on the cards. Keep in mind that David Bagoole, George Kaddu, Joachim Ojera, Ibrahim Wammanah, and Davis Kasirye have been left out of the Cranes’ squad for the upcoming qualifiers. Defender Murushidi Jjuko is banned.
