Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Wolfsburg and Leipzig face each other in a highly-anticipated game at Volkswagen Arena in the Bundesliga round 16. The Wolves are eyeing their sixth consecutive home win in all competitions, but the game against the title-chasing Red Bulls will be anything but a walk in the park for the home side. Midfielder Maximilian Arnold is banned for the hosts as he was sent off in the 2-2 draw with Union Berlin at the weekend.
Leipzig, on the other hand, aim to recover from a heart-breaking loss to Erling Haland and Co. The Red Bulls are likely to go all guns blazing at Wolfsburg, meaning that a high-scoring affair is on the cards. A man to watch in the away team will be on-loan winger Angelino, who is enjoying a season to remember. When the two teams met in the DFB Pokal at Volkswagen Arena in 2019 Leipzig crushed Wolfsburg 6-1. Taking everything into account, over 2.5 goals betting option should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Kevin Mbabu):
Born in Chene-Bougeries, Switzerland on April 19, 1995, Kevin Mbabu is a defender who plays for Young Boys. Mbabu started his youth career at Servette and he continued playing for les Grenats at senior level. However, it has to be noted that he made no more than one appearance for Servette in the league during the 2012/2013 season.
Kevin Mbabu then joined Premier League side Newcastle United and after spending two seasons on loan at Rangers and Young Boys, he signed a permanent deal with the Stade de Suisse outfit in 2017. His main position right back, but he is used as both centre and left back as well.
Mbabu is eligible to play for Switzerland, DR Congo and France due to his mixed descent, but he decided to represent the Rossocrociati at senior level. Mbabu made his Switzerland debut in September, 2018 in a 6-0 win over Iceland. His contract with Young Boys should expire in June, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Leipzig):
Leipzig are a professional football club founded in 2009. Die Bullen (The Bulls) were unbeaten in the 2012/2013 Regionalliga Nordost and, as a result, they secured promotion to the 3. Liga. After finishing the 2013/2014 as 3rd. Liga campaign in second place in the standings, Leipzig were promoted to the 2. Bundesliga and they competed in the German second tier for two seasons.
Despite suffering a loss to Karlsruher on the last day of the 2015/2016 round in the 2. Bundesliga campaign, die Bullen secured promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time ever. Leipzig play their home games at Red Bull Arena (42,959) and it has to be noted that the stadium was opened in 1954.
Die Bullen wear white shirts and red shorts while their away kit is blue and yellow. Ralph Hasenhuttl was appointed as the team’s manager at the end of the 2015/2016 season and you should know that the likes of Ralf Rangnick, Achim Beierlorzer, Alexander Zorniger, Peter Pacult, Tomas Oral and Tino Vogel were in charge of the team in the past as well.
