Our prediction for this Championship match:
Rotherham United will be looking to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest when they face Reading in the Championship round 33. The Millers are on a four-game losing run in the English second tier, with the team failing to find the net in the previous three league fixtures. Rotherham obviously struggle in front of goal, and we do not believe that they are capable of finding the net against Reading. The Royals, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from back-to-back losses to Middlesbrough and Wycombe.
Reading have been anything but impressive in the Championship in February, but they should take advantage of the current atmosphere in Rotherham’s dressing room. The Royals are more of a team than the Millers, and we predict that Veljko Paunovic’s troops are going to pick up all three points from the match. All Lindsay, Mattock, and Ogbene are injured for the hosts, while Araruna, Meite, and Swift are unlikely to feature for the visiting team.
Highlighted Player (Adam Thompson):
Born in Harlow, England on September 28, 1992, Adam Thompson is a defender who plays for Bury in League One. Thompson started his youth career at Watford and after making 14 appearances for the Hornets at senior level, he moved to Southend United, signing a permanent deal with the club in January, 2014.
It has to be noted that he played for the likes of Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet on loan as well before joining the Shakers. Adam Thompson has a short loan spell at Bradford City in the 2017/2018 season, but he made no more than nine appearances for the Bantams. Despite being born in England, Adam Thompson decided to represent Northern Ireland in international matches.
He made his debut with the Northern Ireland national team on February 9, 2011, coming from the bench in a 3-0 loss to Scotland. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine showings at right-back as well.
Highlighted Team (Reading):
Reading FC is a professional football club that play in the Championship. The club was formed in 1871 and Madejski Stadium has been the home of Reading since 1998. The Royals used to play their home games at Elm Park in the past (1896 - 1998). Reading made it to the FA Cup semi-finals on two occasions (1927, 2015), but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy.
The likes of Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Steve Death, Shaka Hislop, Phil Parkinson, Alf Messer, Jimmy Quinn, Michael Gilkes, Ronnie Blackman, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Martin Hicks are some of their more notable footballers. Aldershot Town were considered Reading’s fiercest rivals, but the Shots went out of business in 1992.
Seeing that Aldershot rejoined the league in 2008 it remains to be seen if the rivalry is going to be re-established in near future. Swindon Town and Oxford United are considered Reading’s big rivals as well.
