Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Dijon will be aiming to put an end to their dreadful nine-game losing run in the Ligue 1 when they take on Reims on Matchday 30. Les hiboux are running down a blind alley, and given their shaky defence, we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the rock-bottom side. Both Jonathan Panzo and Pape Diop Cheick miss the game through injuries. Reims, on the other hand, are stuck in the middle of the standings.
Les Rouges et Blancs produced a fine display in a 1-1 draw with title-chasing Lyon, and they are surely capable of beating Dijon behind closed doors. Cassama returns from suspension, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the visiting team. In the first half of the season the two teams played out a goalless draw, but the out-of-sorts hopes are unlikely to keep a clean sheet in Sunday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Yassine Benzia):
Born in Saint-Aubin-les-Elbeuf, Yassine Benzia is an Algerian footballer who plays for Lille in Ligue 1. Benzia played for the likes of Saint-Aubin, Oissel, Caudebecais, Quevilly and Lyon during his youth career and he made his senior debut with les Gones on May 20, 2012 in a league game against Nice.
After scoring four goals in 38 appearances in the French top flight for Lyon Yassine Benzia joined fellow Ligue 1 club Lille in 2015. Despite being born in France, Yassine Benzia decided to represent Algeria at senior level, but it has to be noted that he has nine caps for France U21 team (six goals). The prolific attacker played his first game for Algeria national football team on March 26, 2016 against Ethiopia.
The right-footed footballer scored his first goal for Algeria in a 2-0 win over Seychelles in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. You should bear in mind that his contract with les Dogues expires on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Reims):
Reims are a French football club founded in 1931. Reims welcome their rivals at Stade Auguste Delaune, which can hold up to 21,684 people. Believe it or not, Reims won six Ligue 1 titles (1948/1949, 1952/1953, 1954/1955, 1957/1958, 1959/1960, 1961/1962). To make things even better for the fans, Reims participated in the European Cup final on two occasions.
In 1956 they faced Real Madrid in the title game and despite taking the lead after six minutes, the French side eventually suffered a 4-3 loss to los Blancos at Parc des Princes. Three years later Reims had a chance to get their revenge on Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants once again won the European Cup, with Mateos and Di Stefano finding the net in the 2-0 victory over Albert Batteux.
The club’s most notable footballer is Just Fontaine, who scored 13 goals for France at the 1958 FIFA World Cup finals. Reims’ home colours are red and white, with the team wearing white when playing on the road.
