Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Opel Arena will host Saturday’s football match between Mainz and Arminia Bielefeld, the two relegation-threatened teams. Mainz have been showing signs of improvement of late, and they must be high on confidence following back-to-back wins over Freiburg and Hoffenheim. Die Nullfunfer recorded three wins in the previous four home games, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Arminia Bielefeld.
Die Arminen, on the other hand, have been totally unpredictable in the 2020/21 season. Frank Kramer’s men did well to beat Bayer Leverkusen in their last away game, but given Mainz’s current form, we believe that punters can find value in betting on the home team. Amos Pieper is banned for the visitors, while Fabian Klos, Cedric Brunner, Mike van der Hoorn, and Ritsu Doan are all sidelined with injuries. As for the hosts, Vieira is the only absentee ahead of Saturday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Jean-Philippe Mateta):
A talented French youngster Jean-Philippe Mateta worked his way up through football’s less glamorous landscapes plying his trade at local amateur sides and third-tier outfits before Ligue 1 giants Lyon took notice of his 11 goals in 22 matches and brought him to the big league.
Having failed to make it into the first team in a debut season with Les Gones, Mateta was shipped out to Le Havre, leading the club to promotion play-offs. Bundesliga side Mainz took notice of his ability and came calling in the summer of 2018 after he bagged 17 goals in 35 league matches. An imposing physical presence at his 192cm, Mateta is a mobile forward and a decent dribbler who can finish with both of his feet.
Having worked his way up from the very bottom, Jean-Philippe Mateta is a committed individual determined to make a name for himself. His impressive goalscoring record got rewarded in the form of France U19 call-up in 2017.
Highlighted Team (Arminia Bielefeld):
Arminia Bielefeld is a German club founded on May 3, 1905. Die Arminen play home games at Bielefelder Alm. The venue was built in 1926, and it can hold up to 26,515 spectators. Arminia Bielefeld have yet to win the Bundesliga trophy, but they did well to lift the West German Cup title on two occasions (1966, 1974).
Back in 1922 they won the Western German football championship, with the team repeating the success the following year. Arminia Bielefeld wear dark blue shirts when playing at home ground, while white is the dominant colour of their away jersey. In the 2019/20 season Arminia returned to the Bundesliga, where they undisputedly belong.
Bruno Labbadia is considered one of the most famous footballers who played for the club. The ex Bayern Munchen attacker scored 50 goals in 98 appearances in the league for Arminia Bielefeld. Labbadia has two caps for the German national team, and six for the West Germany U21.
