CSKA Sofia will look to claim a major scalp in the Conference League playoffs when they take on Plzen at their Stadion Balgarska Armija on Thursday evening. The Bulgarians are on a quest to overcome a two-goal deficit (0-2), but this game will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Ecuador international Jordy Caicedo, who scored the winner against Pirin at the weekend, is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts.
Plzen, on the other hand, are with one foot in the Conference League group stages, but they can’t afford any complacency in the second leg. Since the Czechs are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence in Thursday’s game, yet another low-scoring affair is on the cards. Keep in mind, though, that all Cermak, Hejda, Kalvach, Kopic, Mika, and N’Diaye are likely to miss the game with injuries for the visiting team.

Dimitar Evtimov is a Bulgarian goalkeeper who plays for Accrington Stanley in the League One. The 190-cm tall shot-stopper played for the likes of Volov Shumen and Chavdar Etropole during his youth career and he continued playing for the Chavdar Stadium outfit at senior level.
Dimitar Evtimov then decided to take a step forward in his career as he signed for English club Nottingham Forest in April 2011. After spending a brief time loan at Ilkeston, he signed a loan deal with Gainsborough Trinity in November, 2011. The Bulgarian goalkeeper played for the likes of Nuneaton Town, Mansfield Town, Olhanense and Port Vale on loan as well before signing a contract with Burton Albion in September, 2018.
However, seeing that he was hungry for a first-team football at Pirelli Stadium, Dimitar Evtimov decided to move to Accrington Stanley in the winter of 2019. He was on the verge of keeping a clean sheet on his Acctington debut, but the capital club eventually broke the deadlock, winning the game 1-0.

CSKA Sofia are a Bulgarian football club that welcome their rivals at Bulgarian Army Stadium. The Armymen are well known for their red shirts, while they wear white jerseys on the travels. The Reds won their 31st national championship in the 2007/08 season, with the team finishing the process 16 points clear of the second-place Levski Sofia.
CSKA have won 20 Bulgarian Cup titles (last in 2016). Levski Sofia are considered the club’s fiercest rivals, and there have always been fireworks in matches between the two teams. CSKA made it to the Champions League semis on two occasions.
In the 1966/67 campaign the Armymen were more than unfortunate not to beat Inter in the semifinals, with the team losing to Bayern Munchen 7-4 (on agg.) in their second attempt to go all the way in the elite competition. CSKA Sofia’s home ground was opened in 1967, and it can hold up to 22,995 spectators.
