Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
After sharing the spoils with Groningen in their last league match, Twente will be aiming to start a new winning run when they welcome Willem II to their De Grolsch Veste. The Reds were producing brilliant displays in September, and it is no wonder the bookies see them as favourites to win Sunday’s football game. All Julio Pleguezuelo, Giovanni Troupee, and Vaclav Cerny are sidelined with injuries, while both Kik Pierie and Jody Lukoki are rated doubtful for the game.
The Tricolores, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-2 loss to Twente, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. As for the visiting side, both Freek Heerkens and Wesley Spieringhs miss out with injuries, while Robbin Ruiter will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Highlighted Player (Joel Drommel):
Born on November 16, 1996, Joel Drommel is a Dutch footballer who plays for Twente as a goalkeeper. Drommel played for IJsselmeervogels youth team when Twente scouts spotted him. The shot-stopper was immediately brought to Enschede, and he has been playing for the Reds ever since.
He made his Eredivisie debut in September 2015 in a 2-2 draw with Ajax. Joel Drommel has 18 appearances with Jong FC Twente as well. Speaking of his international career, the talented goalkeeper has four caps with the Netherlands U21 team. He represented the Oranje at the UEFA U21 Championship in Italy 2019, making two appearances at the tournament.
It has to be noted that Joel Drommel used to play as a midfielder before turning goalkeeper. His fother Piet-Jan Drommel was a footballer as well, playing for the like of AZ Alkmaar and SC Telstar during his career. Joel Drommel is 193cm tall.
Highlighted Team (Willem II):
Based in Tilburg, Netherlands, Willem II is a professional football club that competes in the Eredivisie. The Tricolores were founded back in August 1896 under the name of Tilburgia, but the club’s first big success came in the 1915/16 season when they won the national championship.
Willem II repeated the success in the 1951/52 Eredivisie campaign, with the team winning their third domestic trophy three years later. When it comes to KNVB Cup, the Tricolores have won it on two occasions (1943/44, 1962/63). Willem II are well known for their white shirts with red and blue strips, while their away kit is mainly mint with dark navy accents.
The Tricolores play home matches at Koning Willem II Stadion, the venue with the capacity of 14,700 spectators. Willem II have fierce rivals in Nac Breda, as the cities of Breda and Tilburg are only 20 kilometers apart. Former Barcelona and Arsenal star Marc Overmars is one of the most notable footballers who played for the club.
