Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Doncaster and Cambridge take on each other at Keepmoat Stadium in a postponed League One fixture. The Donny quickly bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Gillingham, with the team beating Cheltenham 3-2 at the weekend. Doncaster regained a much-needed confidence, but they need to keep on improving their game if they are to escape the relegation zone. Kyle Knoyle is banned for the hosts, while both Fejiri Okenabirhie and Charlie Seaman are sidelined with injuries.
Cambridge United, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their six-game winless run in the League One. The Yellows experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4-1 loss to Shrewsbury Town, and seeing that Donny are a real force to be reckoned with at home, the visitors are unlikely to grab something from the midweek fixture. Adam May is out of contention through suspension, while Leon Davies is a major doubt.
Highlighted Player (Reece James):
Reece James is a talented Chelsea defender who plays for Wigan Athletic on loan. Born in Redbridge, England on December 8, 1999, James started his youth career at Chelsea football academy at the age of 6. The talented teenager played for England U18 and U19 teams and he currently represents the U20 team on the international stage.
Reece James scored 3 goals in 45 appearances for Wigan in the 2018/2019 Championship campaign, but that did not help the Latics avoid relegation to the League One. His numbers from the 2018/2019 season are impressive as he completed 91 successful tackles, 54 blocks, 44 successful dribbles and 93 clearances.
James, on the other hand, has yet to find the net for the England U20 national team. His main position is right back, but he is capable of playing as both centre-back and defensive midfielder as well. Reece James turned professional in March 2017.
Highlighted Team (Cambridge United):
Cambridge United are an English football club that compete in League Two. The U’s play their home games at Abbey Stadium, the venue which was built back in 1923. Owned by Grosvenor Estates, Cambridge United’s home ground can hold up to 8,127 spectators.
The U’s wear amber and black jerseys and black shorts when playing in front of home fans, while white and blue are the dominant colours of their away kit. Cambridge United won the FA Trophy in 2014, with the team making it to the FA Cup quarter-finals two times (1989/90, 1990/91). In the 1968-69 season, the U’s clinched the Southern League Cup title.
Cambridge United recorded their biggest league win in March 2007 as they outclassed Weymouth 7-0, and they repeated the success against Forest Green (2009) and Morecambe (2016). Peterborough United are regarded as the club’s main rivals, but they maintain rivalries with Northampton Town, Colchester United, Luton Town, Stevenage, and Histon as well.
