After holding Twente to a 1-1 draw at the weekend, Willem II will look to start a new winning run in the Eredivisie when they take on Fortuna Sittard on Matchday 10. Les Tricolores are eyeing their fourth consecutive win at home ground, and they are seen as favourites to win Friday’s clash. Defender Derrick Kohn serves a one-game ban, while both Freek Heerkens and Wesley Spieringhs are out of contention through injuries.
Fortuna Sittard, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Cambuur. The Fortunezen escaped the relegation zone, but they need to keep on making progress if they are to avoid relegation to the Dutch second tier. Since Willem II are a real force to be reckoned with at home, the visitors are likely to return to Sittard empty-handed. Robbin Ruiter is a Dutch professional goalkeeper who plays for Eredivisie club Willem II. Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on March 25, 1987, the 196-cm-tall shot-stopper is a product of RKAV Volendam youth team.
Speaking of his senior career, Ruiter began playing for FC Volendam. After making 70 league appearances for the Het Andere Oranje, the goalkeeper joined Utrecht in 2012 where he quickly established himself as a first-team regular. After short spells with Sunderland and PSV, Robbin Ruiter signed a two-year contract with Willem II in the summer of 2020. It has to be noted that he did well to make it to the EFL Trophy final with Sunderland in the 2018/19 season.
