Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Wednesday’s football game between Wigan Athletic and Shrewsbury Town will bring down the curtain on day 21 of the new League One campaign. The Latics did well to beat Colchester in the FA Cup at the weekend, and they are now on a quest to overtake Rotherham in top position in the League One standings. All Ben Amos, Curtis Tilt, Tenday Darikwa, Tom Naylor, James McClean, and Thelo Aasgaard are likely to return to the starting XI.
The Shrews, on the other hand, did well to beat Charlton in their last league match, but despite the triumph they remained in the danger zone. Shrewsbury, though, are not regarded as good travelers, which is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the promotion-chasing hosts. The good news for the visiting team is that Rekeil Pyke has overcome his injury.
Highlighted Player (Nathan Cameron):
Born in Birmingham, England, on November 21, 1991, Nathan Cameron is a professional footballer who plays for Macclesfield Town as a defender. Cameron is a product of the Coventry City football school, and he continued wearing the sky blue shirt at the senior level.
He made 48 appearances in the league for Coventry City, but he played for the likes of Nuneaton Town (loan), Northampton Town (loan), and Bury as well before joining Macclesfield Town. Nathan Cameron has one cap for the England U20 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team.
The 188-cm-tall defender made his Macclesfield Town debut in the League two in a 2-0 loss to Milton Keynes Dons on November 17, 2018. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine performances as a right-back as well. His preferred foot is right, and he wears the number 25 shirt at Macclesfield Town.
Highlighted Team (Shrewsbury):
Based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, Shrewsbury Town are a professional club that play home games at New Meadow stadium, the venue which was opened in 2007 and has the capacity of 10,361. Shrewsbury Town were founded back in 1886, with some reports indicating the club was established at the Lion Hotel.
The Blues wear blue shirts with yellow stripe and blue shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kit is purple. Mickey Brown holds the club record for most appearances as he played 190 games for the club, scoring 9 goals in the league. Both Wolverhampton and Walsall are regarded as the club’s fiercest rivals, but there have always been fireworks in matches between Shrewsbury Town and Hereford United as well.
The two teams face each other in the “A49 derby” and it has to be noted that the Blues have built rivalries with Chester City and Wrexham as well.
