Our prediction for this Premier League match:
All eyes will be on Stamford Bridge when Chelsea and Leeds United face each other in the Premier League round 16. The Blues aim to bounce back from a heart-breaking 3-2 loss to West Ham, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at the Whites. Romelu Lukaku should replace Kai Havertz in the starting XI, whilst Kante, Chalobah, Chilwell, and Kovacic remain in the recovery room.
Marcelo Bielsa’s troops, on the other hand, came from behind to share the spoils with Brentford at the weekend. Leeds United are eager to escape the danger zone, but given Chelsea’s brilliant home record, we do not believe that Raphinha and Co. are capable of grabbing something from the match. Defender Robin Koch should be the only absentee in the away team. In their last meeting at Stamford Bridge Chelsea defeated Leeds United 3-1, and we predict that the history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Timo Werner):
Timo Werner is a German starlet, who began his senior career at Vfb Stuttgart. The German forward, who was born in Stuttgart on March 6, 1996, scored 13 goals in 95 appearances in the league for Die Schwaben and in 2016 he moved to fellow Bundesliga side Leipzig and he impressed with the Red Bulls in the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign, scoring 21 goals in the process.
To make things even better for the talented attacker, he represented Germany at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and it has to be noted that he provided an assist for Lars Stindl in the title game. Despite the fact that coach Joachim Low rested star players at the tournament in Russia, the Germans eventually won the trophy.
Timo Werner played for the Germany U17 team as well and he won the silver medal with die Mannschaft at the 2012 UEFA European Championship. His main position is centre forward, but he is used as a winger as well. Timo Werner’s contract with Leipzig should expire on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Leeds United):
Leeds United is one of the clubs that won the FA Cup. The Whites outplayed Arsenal in the final of the prestigious competition back in 1972, but they clinched the League Cup trophy as well. Leeds United faced the Gunners in the 1967/1968 League Cup final and it has to be noted that Terry Cooper scored the winner for the Whites.
Leeds play their home games at Elland Road and the capacity of the stadium is 37,914. The club was founded in 1919 and they have won three First Division (Premier League) trophies ever since (1968/1969, 1973/1974, 1991/1992). Leeds United made it to the Champions League final in 1975, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the title clash.
The Whites were impressive under David O’Leary. The likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Ian Harte were part of the Elland Road outfit back then and they did well to reach the semis of the Champions League in 2001.
