Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Portman Road will host Wednesday’s football game between Ipswich Town and Wycombe, the two top-table sides. The Tractor Boys aim to put an end to their three-game winless run, but this match will be anything but a walk in the park for the home team. Experienced attacker James Norwood should keep his place in the starting XI after finding the net in a 1-1 draw with Sunderland. The Chairboys, on the other hand, have been in a fine form of late.
Wycombe are undefeated in the previous five league fixtures, meaning that they are high on spirits ahead of the trip to Ipswich. Considering that the Tractor Boys are tough to beat on home soil, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on draw. Veteran striker Adebayo Akinfenwa is pushing for a rare start after scoring as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon.
Highlighted Player (Vaclav Hladky):
Born in Brno on November 14, 1990, Vaclav Hladky is a Czech footballer who plays for Scottish Premier League club St Mirren as a goalkeeper. Hladky spent his youth career at the likes of FC Sparta Brno, FK Sardice, and FC Zbrojovka Brno, and he continued playing for the Zbrojovka Brno reserve team at the senior level.
The 192-cm-tall shot-stopper played for the likes of MSK Breclav (loan) Sparta Brno, FK Sardice, FC Zbrojovka Brno (senior team), and Slovan Liberec before signing a contract with St Mirren. The Czech goalkeeper made his Scottish Premiership debut on January 23, 2019, in a 4-0 loss at Celtic.
Hladky played for the Czech Republic youth teams as well, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the Czech Republic senior team. Vaclav Hladky wears the No. 1 shirt at St Mirren, and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Wycombe):
Founded back in 1887, Wycombe Wanderers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. The Chairboys are well known for their sky blue and dark blue shirts, but the colour of their away kit is orange combined with gun-metal gray.
Wycombe Wanderers host their rivals at Adams Park, a small stadium in Sands Industrial Estate which can hold up to 10,137 people. Milton Keynes Dons are seen as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Buckinghamshire derby. Wycombe Wanderers made it to the FA Cup semis in the 2000/2001, with the team repeating the success in the League Cup six seasons later.
It has to be noted that the Chairboys have two FA Trophy titles (1991, 1993). Legendary midfielder Gareth Ainsworth is considered one of the club’s most famous players. Ainsworth scored 16 goals in 112 league appearances for Wycombe Rovers.
