Our prediction for this Championship match:
Swansea City and Fulham square off against each other at Swansea.com Stadium in a highly-anticipated Championship game. The Swans suffered yet another dip in form, with the team losing each of their last three league fixtures, and, no doubt, they are low on spirits ahead of the visit of Fulham. Since Russell Martin should have a full squad to choose from, we predict that the hosts are going to grab something from Monday’s clash.
The Cottagers, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest ahead of the first game of the year, and, taking everything into account, we do not believe that they are capable of beating Swansea in Wales. Ivan Cavaleiro is sidelined with injury, but he should be the only absentee in the away team. Fulham defeated Swansea 3-1 in London in the first half of the season.
Highlighted Player (Korey Smith):
After spending his youth career at Norwich City, Korey Smith made his first-team debut for the Canaries in January 2008 in the FA Cup clash against Charlton Athletic. Smith played 67 league games for Norwich City and he scored 4 goals for the club, but in 2013 he signed a two-year deal with Oldham Athletic.
The midfielder who was born on 31 January, 1991, scored one goal in 42 appearances for the club in the 2013/2014 campaign and on 27 June, 2014, he joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee. It has to be noted that he won Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with the Robins in his first season with the team.
Korey Smith was born in Hatfield, England and he has two younger sisters, Alice and Harriet. Smith is a defensive midfielder, but he is capable of operating as central midfielder and right back as well. The Bristol City footballer also represented the likes of Barnsley and Yeovil Town (on loan) in the past.
Highlighted Team (Fulham):
Fulham are a club from London that play in the Premier League. The capital club dropped to the English second tier at the end of the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign after failing to impress in the elite competition, but managed to return in season 2018/2019.
Fulham were founded in 1879 and they play their home matches at Craven Cottage. Fulham are the oldest-established club from the English capital to have played in the top flight.
Fulham finished the 2008/2009 Premier League campaign in seventh place in the standings and that is considered the team’s biggest success, speaking of their participation in the Premier League.
The Cottagers played in the Europa League twice and they did well to reach the FA Cup final in 1975, but they were beaten by their local rivals West Ham United in the title game (0-2). Chelsea are regarded as Fulham’s bitter rivals as well and the two teams take on each other in the North London derby.
