Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Port Vale and Salford City square off against each other at Vale Park in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Tuesday’s program. The Valiants aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to Port Vale and Swindon, and a win over Salford could see them climb to the playoffs berth. Keep in mind, though, that first-choice goalkeeper Lucas Covolan is banned for the hosts. The Lions want to keep their League Two playoffs hopes alive as well.
Salford City, though, are not regarded as good travelers, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on draw. Talented forward Thomas-Asante Brandon, who was sent off in a 2-1 loss to Bradford City, misses the midweek game through suspension. You should know that under 2.5 goals have been netted in each of their last four meetings in the League Two.
Highlighted Player (David Amoo):
David Amoo is a professional football player who was born in Southwark, London, England on April 13, 1991. Amoo spent his youth career at the likes of Millwall and Liverpool, but nowadays he plays for League Two side Port Vale.
It has to be noted that the pacey winger played for the likes of Milton Keynes Dons (loan), Hull City (loan), Bury (loan), Preston, Tranmere Rovers, Carlisle United, Patrick Thistle, and Cambridge United as well before joining the Valiants in the summer of 2019. David Amoo made his League Two debut with Port Vale on August 3, 2019, in a 1-1 draw with Colchester United.
He scored his first goal for the Valiants in a 1-1 draw with Northampton Town seven days later. His primary position is a right winger, but he is often used as both left winger and second striker. David Amoo has dual citizenship (England/Nigeria).
Highlighted Team (Salford):
Founded during the Second World War (1940) as Salford Central, the League Two side play their home games at Moor Lane. The stadium, which was opened in 1978 and renovated in 2019, can hold up to 5,108 spectators. The Lions wear red jerseys and white shorts when playing in front of home fans, while white and black are the dominant colours of their away kit.
Salford City secured promotion to the League 2 at the end of the 2018/19 as they defeated Flyde 3-0 in the National League play-offs final. The match was played at Wembley Stadium, with Touray, Pergianni, and Dieseruvwe scoring for the Lions.
In the 1977/78 season Salford City won their first Manchester Premier Cup trophy, with the team repeating the success the following year. Bury are seen as the club’s main rivals, but their rivalry with the likes of Oldham and Rochdale is pretty big as well.
