Our prediction for this Championship match:
Kenilworth Road will host Saturday’s football game between Luton Town and Preston, the two teams who are level on points in the Championship table. Luton head into the match following back-to-back draws with Birmingham and Burnley, and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach this time out. Since the Hatters were beaten by Newport County in their EFL Cup opener, they will be fully focused on the Championship in the upcoming period. Both Louie Watson and Fred Onyendinma are sidelined with injuries, while Alfie Doughty is a major doubt.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, rolled over Huddersfield Town 4-1 in the opening match of their EFL Cup campaign, and they are now on a quest to record their first Championship win. Since both sides will go for a victory in Saturday’s showdown, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. The good news for the visitors is that forward Ched Evans is back from suspension.
Highlighted Player (Allan Campbell):
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 4, 1998, Allan Campbell is a Scottish footballer who plays for Motherwell. Campbell has been playing for the Steelmen since 2008 when he was a part of the Motherwell youth team.
The Scottish midfielder made his Premier League debut on October 29, 2016, in a 4-1 win over Ross County, and he scored his first goal in the Scottish top flight in a 4-2 victory over Inverness on April 15, 2017. Allan Campbell has 19 caps for the Scotland U21 team, but he has yet to receive a call-up for the Scotland senior team. His primary position is a defensive midfielder, but he is used as a central midfielder as well.
The Scottish footballer wears the number 6 shirt at Motherwell. In his youth days, Allan Campbell attended All Saints Roman Catholic Secondary School in Glasgow. He joined Motherwell football academy at the age of 10.
Highlighted Team (Preston):
Preston North End or Preston were founded in 1880. The Lilywhites or the Invincibles play their home games at Deepdale, the stadium that was built in 1875 and opened three years later.
In 1889 Preston won their first FA Cup trophy and they did well to beat Huddersfield Town in the final of the 1938 FA Cup final. However, the club’s biggest success came in 1889 and 1890 when they won back-to-back domestic trophies (First Division).
Preston have yet to win the League Cup title, but they were runners-up in 1888, 1922, 1937, 1954, 1964. Preston’s main rivals are Blackpool and the two teams square off against each other in the West Lancashire derby. In their first ever meeting in the West Lancashire derby (1901) Preston recorded a 4-1 win over Blackpool.
Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are considered Preston’s big rivals as well. The colour of Preston’s shirts is white and they wear dark blue shorts.
