Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Leeds United and Chelsea go head to head at Elland Road in what is expected to be an interesting Premier League game. The Whites have been producing fine displays in the new domestic campaign despite the fact that the key players Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha left the club in the summer transfer window, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. A man to watch in the home team will be Spanish forward Rodrigo, who has already netted three goals this season, while all Ayling, Dallas, and Firpo remain in the recovery room.
Fellow defender Liam Cooper, though, should be fit for Sunday’s clash. The Blues, on the other hand, produced a fine display in the London derby, but they eventually grabbed only one point from the Spurs showdown. Since Leeds have been struggling at the back of late, we predict that Thomas Tuchel’s men are going to return to winning ways this weekend. Both Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Alonso are out of contention, but N’Golo Kante should be fit for the Elland Road match.
Highlighted Player (Kalvin Phillips):
Kalvin Phillips started his youth career at Wortley Juniors, but he has been playing for Leeds United ever since he joined the Elland Road outfit at the age of 15. The 177-cm-tall midfielder has established himself as a first-team regular at Leeds, but he has yet to make his debut for the England national team.
Born in Leeds on December 2, 1995 Kalvin Phillips is a right-footed footballer whose main position is defensive midfield. However, he is used as a central midfielder as well. The English footballer scored his first ever goal for the Whites in a 2-1 loss to Cardiff City on April 11, 2015.
Kalvin Phillips made his debut for Leeds United against Wolverhampton on April 6, 2015. Nicknamed “Yorkshire Pirlo”, Phillips is known for his sharp passes and long ball distribution. He covers his defensive duties in style as well.
Highlighted Team (Chelsea):
Over the years Chelsea have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in the English Premier League. Roberto Di Matteo helped the team win their first ever Champions League trophy (2011/2012), but it has to be noted that they were more than fortunate to beat Bayern Munich in the title game.
Chelsea have been playing at Stamford Bridge since 1876 and they are a real force to be reckoned with at home. The Blues have won seven FA Cups, five League Cups, two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups and the UEFA Europa League. Rafael Benitez was in charge of the team that faced Benfica in the 2012/2013 Europa League final, with Branislav Ivanovic scoring the winner for the Blues in the title clash.
After lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, the Blues largely struggled in the next campaign, which saw Jose Mourinho’s second spell with the club come to an end, and Antoine Conte went over to take the reigns for the 2016/2017 season.
