Saturday’s football game at Visit Mallorca Estadi pits together Mallorca and Girona, the two teams who face each other in La Liga for the first time since Januarz 2021. Los Bermellones aim to build on a 2-0 win over Rayo Vallecano, and they must be high on spirits ahead of the visit of Girona. A man to watch in the home team will be Vedat Muriqi, who scored the opener in Madrid, while both Dominik Greif and Ndiaye Diedhiou are out of contention through injuries.
The Catalans, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Celta Vigo. Joan Sastre, who started his youth career at Mallorca back in 2009, has been playing for los Bermellones ever since. Sastre made his senior debut with Mallorca in a 1-0 win over Peralada on August 20, 2017 and he scored his first ever goal for the islanders in a 1-1 draw with Badalona on December 10, 2017.
The pacey right back was born in Porreres, Spain on April 30, 1997 and it has to be noted that he has two caps with la Roja U19 team. Joan Sastre has established himself as a first-team regular at Mallorca, with the defender making 29 appearances in the Segunda Division last term.
The Spaniard was deployed in the starting line-up for the decider against Deportivo La Coruna where Mallorca emerged triumphant (3-0) and secured promotion to La Liga. Joan Sastre’s contract with los Bermellones should expire on June 30, 2023. His preferred foot is right.

After several unsuccessful attempts, finally secured promotion to Primera Division at the end of the 2016/2017 season. The Catalan outfit finished the campaign in second place in the standings, 14 points behind Levante and only two clear of third-placed Getafe. Girona play their home games at Montilivi and the capacity of the venue is 9.286.
Speaking of the club history, Girona were founded in the café Norat in La Rambla of Girona on July 23, 1930 and they played their first official game against Colonia Artigas.
