Sunday’s football game between Schalke 04 and Augsburg will bring down the curtain on day 8 of the new Bundesliga campaign. Die Knappen have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team sharing the spoils with Stuttgart, beating Bochum, while losing to Borussia Dortmund. Schalke produce much better displays at home than on the travels, and they are surely capable of matching the Bavarians in Gelsenkirchen. Both Cedric Brunner and Marcin Kaminski remain in the treatment room, but there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
Augsburg, on the other hand, did well to claim a major scalp before the international break, with the team shocking Bayern Munich in the Bavarian derby. Enrico Maasen’s men, though, are not regarded as good travellers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Schalke’s party at Veltins Arena. To make things even worse for the away side, their injury list is pretty full, including Iago, Uduokhai, Winther, Oxford, Dorsch, Salifou, Strobl, and Sarenren-Bazee.

A product of Freiburg academy, Alexander Schwolow was forced to work for his place under the spotlight and it wasn’t until his loan spell in the Third Division with Armenia Bielefeld in 2014 that Schwolow earned his place between the sticks at his parent club. His stock went through a rapid rise in 2016/17 campaign when Alexander Schwolow played a great part in his team’s seventh-place finish and a place in the UEFA Europa league qualification.
Schwolow’s impressive goalkeeping exploits got his name written in the notebook of some of Europe’s biggest clubs and it is fair to say we could see his move abroad in foreseeable future. Alexander Schwolow represented Germany in U18, U19 and U20 categories but has yet to earn a senior cap.

Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
