The Mazuma Stadium will host Saturday’s League One game between Morecambe and Portsmouth, the two teams with totally different ambitions in the 2022/2023 season. The Shrimps are desperate to secure the League One survival, while the Pompey are eyeing promotion to the Championship. The hosts failed to win the previous three league matches, and seeing that they failed to impress in the FA Cup defeat to MK Dons, home win should not be considered.
Both Mayor and Connolly are pushing for recalls as Delaney and O’Connor produced poor displays in the FA Cup loss. The visitors, on the other hand, kicked off their FA Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Hereford, and given their fine away record (4-1-2) in the League One, we predict that they are going to emerge triumphant in Saturday’s encounter. Talented forward Dane Scarlett should be recalled to the starting XI after he was rested against Hereford.

Born in Cork, the Republic of Ireland on October 25, 1992, Anthony O’Connor is a professional footballer who plays for Bradford City as a defender. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is used as both right-back and defensive midfielder as well.
The Irish footballer is a product of the Blackburn Rovers football academy, but he did not see any game action with the Riversiders at senior level. After ending his loan spells with the likes of Burton Albion, Torquay United, and Plymouth Argyle, Anthony O’Connor signed a permanent deal with the Pilgrims in 2015. At the end of the 2014/2015 season, O’Connor returned to Burton, signing a two-year contract with the Brewers.
In the summer of 2016, he moved to Scotland Premier League club Aberdeen where he scored five goals in 61 league appearances. In June 2018 he joined League Two side Bradford City. It has to be noted that Anthony O’Connor has eight caps with the Republic of Ireland U21 team.

During Milan Mandaric’s era at the club, Portsmouth played an important role in the Premier League, with the team finishing their debut season (2003/2004) in the 13th position in the standings.
